_hexagon tower, crumpsall
New Flickr set added of Hexagon Tower, Crumpsall, Manchester. Built as the research laboratories for ICI and designed by Richard Seifert & Partners, 1971.
Wonderfully sculptural with lots of deep shadows and the micro-mosaic exterior faces glistening from the saturday morning sun.

The 11th of September saw the Portico Library open to the general public as part of English Heritage's Heritage Open Days events so I thought I would meander across town to see inside this hidden gem of Manchester's built history.
